SNC-Lavalin decided to move there flexible benefits platform from Capita to Mercer’s Darwin solution. The Impact team were asked to support in communicating the launch of this new transactional tool, along with ongoing employee engagement activity. Part of the brief to us was also to highlight all the amazing rewards that colleagues had access to – not just for existing employees, but also future talent.

What we did

Our Digital and Engagement experts worked closely together to design and build the Darwin benefits site and a microsite. A reward brand ‘YourReward’ was developed that aligned with the SNC-Lavalin corporate brand while providing a distinctive flavour to help communications stand out.

We created a total rewards microsite that would be the ‘front door’ to Darwin. The microsite provided content for potential candidates, new joiners who don’t have access to Darwin and employees with full Darwin access.

Branding created by an Impact team designer was carefully applied to both platforms giving users a consistent brand experience. An email suite, a benefits snapshot and a ‘welcome to the site’ video were all created to help engage employees with the launch, all branded with the same look and feel.

The results

The launch of Darwin and the microsite was a resounding success. This combined approach promoted total rewards at SNC-Lavalin to employees and nonemployees alike. With tens of thousands of visits to the microsite and over 20,000 views of the benefits page alone, there was a higher participation rate than ever before going through to YourReward (Darwin).

Client and employee feedback on the experience was extremely positive.
